South Suburban Ice Arena is a great place for a field trip. Bring your troop in for recreational skating during one of our public skating sessions. The price for the public skate is $4.75 for District residents (as long as one member of the troop has a current South Suburban ID card) or $6.75 for Non-District residents. This price includes skate rental.

For an additional fee we can arrange for a teacher to work with the scouts to receive their Fair Play/Skate badge. The instructor will be a qualified teacher and competitor who will tell the scouts about their experiences in training for competitions or tournaments and teach a few basic skills that will be used in games.

For those individuals who need lessons, South Suburban Ice Arena offers group lessons. The lessons are 30 minutes once a week for 2 months.
