The South Suburban Sports Complex is a regional, top-tier facility including athletics amenities, a restaurant and bar, and the South Suburban administrative offices. 

Amenities: 

• Two synthetic turf fields
• Two gymnasiums compatible with basketball, pickle ball, etc.
• Three sheets of ice
• Four multipurpose rooms
• One banquet room
• District administrative offices
• Restaurant and full bar

This complex is not a traditional recreation center or gym. South Suburban owns and operates four full-service recreation centers, and two are within a 5-mile radius of the Sports Complex (Goodson & Lone Tree). This project replaced the 50-year-old South Suburban Ice Arena and the South Suburban Administration Office.

Enjoy the freedom of ice open for you to practice, spend time with friends, or just glide. Children under 3 years old skate for free (does not include skate rental).

Take A Shot / Private Staff Lessons

25 participant limit. Full gear required (includes skates, shin pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, helmet, stick, gloves, and a jersey). Pre-registration available by calling day-of to the Sports Complex Front Desk at 303.798.7515. Staff will NOT take reservations for future dates. Payment is required to reserve a spot. Goalies do NOT play free and must register for a spot. Children under 18 years old must have a full facemask, visors may be worn for those skaters who are over the age of 18.

Drop-In Hockey

20 participant limit. 2 Goalies limit. Full gear required. Must be 18+ to play. Pre-registration available by reserving online or by calling day-of to the Sports Complex Front Desk at 303.798.7515. Payment is required to reserve a spot. Goalies play free (max of 2) and must register for a spot.

Reserve Your Space

Court, Field, Meeting Room Rental Parameters

• Online reservation requests are allowed up to 6 months in advance; first come, first served.
• All rentals require staff approval before secured.
• All balances are due 30 days in advance.
• No outside food permitted in the building
• Any adjustments to approved rental requests must be sent to Sports Complex Facility Manager.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

• Only cancellations made by the lessee 11 or more days before the event will qualify for a full refund of rental fees (less $5 processing fee).
• Cancellations made by the lessee within 3-10 days of the event will qualify for a 50% refund of rentals fees.
• Cancellations made less than 3 days of rental date will not receive a refund or credit.

How does the ice stay frozen?  Why can figure skaters jump?  How does a hockey player stop so fast?  How does the Zamboni work?  These are all questions we can answer for your group on one of our STEM field trips.  Spend the day with us learning about the science, physics, and engineering behind our favorite ice sports!  Skate, eat and learn about the wonders of the ice rink.  Maybe even an up-close view of the Zamboni!
