Family-friendly fun is in store at South Suburban this fall! From pumpkins and ghosts to fairies and forests, there’s something for everyone to get into the spirit.

Superhero Party 
Sept. 27
Lone Tree Recreation Center 
Calling all superheroes! Join us for a night of games, snacks, dancing and more. Come dressed as your favorite superhero, superhero duo or make up your own. Register here

Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns
Sept. 20-Nov. 2
Visit Hudson Gardens to experience a glowing trail of more than 7,000 magnificent, hand-carved pumpkins. A magical light show illuminates a nautical seascape, a pirate ship, dinosaurs, dragons and so much more! For more information, please visit magicofthejackolanterns.com.

Community Tree Recycle Day
Oct. 5
Recycle your tree limbs, branches, firewood, logs, and dead shrubs at the Willow Spring Service Center on Oct. 5 from 8 am- 12:30 pm. Off-loading is self-service, and no commercial loads, U-Haul loads, leaves, grasses, pine needles, fence posts or root balls will be accepted. Parents Night Out  
Various Dates 
Goodson Recreation Center & Lone Tree Recreation Center 
Parents can take the night off while kids enjoy a movie, pizza and popcorn. Fall movie nights will be held at Goodson Recreation Center on Sept. 13, Oct. 11 and Nov. 8, and at Lone Tree Recreation Center on Sept. 6, Oct. 4 and Nov. 1. Register here
 
Hole-O-Ween at Colorado Journey Mini Golf

Moonlit Masquerade

South Platte Park 
Join us for an evening of live music, s’mores and storytelling by the campfire! Wear a costume or make a mask at the event, then explore on a guided moonlit forest walk. Register here

Pumpkin Plunge 
Oct. 19
Buck Recreation Center 
Take a plunge to find your perfect pumpkin. Swimmers of all ages are invited to dive for pumpkins in the Buck Recreation Center pool and turn them into spooky masterpieces at the decoration station. Register here
 
Hoofin’ It Through the Hollows 5K Run 
Oct. 26

Runners beware, this race is scary fun! Join us for a Halloween celebration at the Hoofin' It Through the Hollows 5K. Dress to impress and participate in the pre-race costume contest, then stick around for the post-race beer garden and s’mores. Register here
 
Drop-In Spooky Skate Events 
Oct. 26
Family Sports Center & South Suburban Sports Complex 
Dress up and drop by the family-friendly Spooky Skates at the Sports Complex from 12-2:30 pm or at Family Sports Center from 1-2:50 pm to enjoy ice skating to kid-friendly tunes, a costume contest for fun prizes and sweet treats. Family Sports Center is also hosting an adults-only Spooky Skate event from 7-9:30 pm, adults are invited to wear your scariest costumes and get ready to scream!

Try Hockey for Free
Nov. 2 & 3
Children ages 4-9 are invited to take to the ice at the South Suburban Sports Complex for USA Hockey’s annual Try Hockey for Free Day. Aspiring players of all ability levels can attend to skate, play, and learn the basics of hockey in a fun and safe environment. No previous skating or hockey experience is required to participate, and South Suburban will supply your player with all necessary hockey equipment. Learn more here
