South Suburban Public Art Committee

The South Suburban Public Art Committee (PAC) is an appointed volunteer body that offers an informed opinion to the elected South Suburban Park and Recreation District (SSPRD) Board of Directors regarding art in public places. The PAC consists of 7 - 9 at-large members plus one representative from each municipality within the boundaries of SSPRD. At-large members are selected through an application process. The SSPRD Board of Directors must act on the appointment of all PAC members.

Interactive Art Map
The District has had a robust public art program for more than three decades. Currently, South Suburban Parks and Recreation is responsible for over 60 permanent public art displays. The Interactive Art map features SSPRD owned art, as well as select art from our local government partners.

Temporary Art Exhibition
The PAC also makes recommendations regarding temporary art exhibits at the District’s recreation centers. Artists interested in displaying their work in one of our facilities must apply through the Temporary Art Exhibit Form. For additional details, please contact the Arts and Enrichment Coordinator, David Bridges, dbridges@ssprd.org.

Annual Art on Loan Program
Annually, the PAC selects sculptures from Colorado artists for display at Goodson Recreation Center and the Hudson Gardens and Event Center. The selected pieces are on loan from the artists for one year and are for sale to the public. Purchasers may take possession after the one-year exhibition period. Selected artists receive an honorarium and must sign an agreement with SSPRD and provide their current W9. For more information, please contact Arts and Enrichment Manager Grace Peterson at gpeterson@ssprd.org.
