South Suburban Parks and Recreation is accepting public input on planned improvements for David A. Lorenz Regional Park, located on E. County Line Road between Holly Street and Colorado Boulevard.

David A. Lorenz Regional Park currently features five synthetic turf fields and a BMX track. Previously, a ballfield was removed from the park due to ground settling; and an off-leash dog park, disc golf course and RC track were removed in 2019 for the construction of the South Suburban Sports Complex. South Suburban is seeking feedback on relocating the existing multi-purpose sports fields, and replacing the dog park.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the public comment process will be conducted entirely online. Documents are available to educate and inform the public about the planned improvements. Residents are encouraged to watch the video, review the plans and submit their feedback through the online survey by April 5, 2021.

South Suburban has hired Design Concepts, an award-winning landscape architecture firm with extensive experience in parks, trail and open space planning, to lead the improvement project. The proposed Site Plan and public feedback will be presented to the South Suburban Board of Directors at a regularly schedule public meeting. Should the Board approve the project, construction of the park would be scheduled to begin in summer 2021.
